Dunlop ambassador, Nick Matthew, claimed the PSA World Open squash title for the second consecutive year, when he defeated Frenchman Gregory Gaultier (6-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-5) in an all Dunlop final on Sunday.
Matthew, 31, is the first player to successfully defend the PSA World Tour crown for 15 years. He said: “Being called ‘double World Open champion’ is amazing. I can’t tell you how tough Greg is. We’ve been playing since we were 15 or 16.
“I have two or three years on him, but it shows how tough he is that even at 16, he was pushing and beating me sometimes when I was 18. He’s younger than me and he will get his name on this trophy, no doubt.
Nick Matthew plays with the Dunlop Biomimetic Evolution 130 racket, which features the classic teardrop head shape for enhanced power whilst maintaining torsional stability through a small bridge in the throat. The racket is designed to deliver an excellent blend of power and control.
