Well done to D Squad member Pippa Horn who defeated Jessica Ren in the final of the Aegon Junior National Final!!
Pippawon the 18U girls’ title after converting her second match point against Jen Ren to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. An excellent week for the 14 year-old capped by victory over the No.1 seed, who up until today hadn’t dropped a set.
Next up for Horn, a doubles final with partner Amy Hoburn against Jen’s sister Jennifer and Ruth Seaborne, the No.2 seeds. Horn and Hoburn will be hoping for another giant-killing display after already knocking out the No.1 and No.3 seeds in previous rounds this week.
This is a brilliant achievement for a 14 year old wild card! Well done Pippa!
