4D stands for 4 directional braiding and it has been introduced to enhance racket stability and control. 4D Braided material is constructed using four braided fibres of superlight composite fibres wrapped in an alloy sheath
The fibres are aligned at 0, 90, 22 and -22¼ orientations which enables stresses to be supported in multiple directions whereas standard carbon sheets are only orientated in a single direction. This means that one layer of 4D Braided material has the equivalent properties to four layers of standard carbon layed up at different orientations, making it 4 times more effective without increasing the overall weight of the rackets.
4D Braided material has been incorporated to the racket lay-up at the following key locations:
4D Braided technology perfectly complements the raw power of Aerogel technology to create the perfect blend of control and power.

Dunlop's Aerobridge system is an injection moulded polymer sleeve that encloses the bridge of the racket and incorporates a specially engineered mix of braided carbon fibres combined with Dunlop Aerogel technology.
This polymer softens the frame around the main strings that create the sweet spot of the racket. This technology helps to dampen string vibration and enhances frame response.

Dunlop Aerogel rackets incorporate the world's lightest solid, which has a strength of up to 4,000 times its own weight.
The three-dimentional nanometer-sized molecular network delivers an unmatched strength to weight ratio for enhanced stiffness and increased power.
Dunlop Aerogel technology and 4D Braided technology creates the perfect blend of power and stability.

The injection of PU foam into the racket frame significantly reduces vibration for supreme player comfort.

Our revolutionary Hotmelt manufacturing process produces a unique molten graphite skin which is layered over the entire racket frame, making it immensely strong, durable and responsive, producing an incredible surge of 30% more heat refined power than standard graphite rackets.
This creates a purer, more uniform graphite coating, enhancing natural power play, producing greater shot accuracy and giving a more consistent touch and feel throughout the frame.

M-Fil (Multi Filament) is a combination of three materials that are incorporated into the hitting zone of the racket head to enhance the touch and feel of the racket where and when you need it most - at the moment of ball contact.
The 3D Braided structure at these key points enhances torsional stability at ball contact while frame deformation is similarly reduced and this helps to enhance dwell time on ball impact.

Vibrocore dramatically reduces frame vibration after ball impact. The racket is actually cut in half and then re-constructed using two additional pieces, including an elastomer sleeve.
These combine to produce an unrivaled vibration dampening effect. At ball impact shock waves are absorbed in the throat of the racket into the silicon rubber core and are therefore not allowed to travel down the handle. This significantly reduces the risk of tennis elbow and provides exceptional comfort. The elastomer sleeve portion also provides a ÔhingeÕ effect which helps to provide exceptional rebound power while allowing for the ultimate in player comfort.

Wider string holes with softer grommets at the bridge area allows the ball to remain on the racket strings for longer and thus enhance the trampoline effect for increased power.

Engineered utilising a carbon core with PU jacket, this advanced structure allows the carbon shaft to link directly to the carbon within the handle. This delivers increased transfer of energy from player to racket during swing phase for increased power and also improves sensory feedback on shuttle contact for enhanced control.

Dunlop Carbon Core technology utilises carbon black pigments to deliver enhanced core pressure retention and increased durability.

Dunlop Clay Guard technology has been developed specifically for top level clay court play. The specially treated premium woven cloth ensures the ball stays brighter for longer, giving players maximum visibility to be able to track the ball and prepare the perfect shot.

Comfort Core technology consists of a modified core which is slightly softer than a standard tennis ball core which helps to reduce the risk of tennis elbow by up to 15%.

Dunlop HD cloth has been developed using premium Playnes woven cloth which has been treated with a special dye that greatly increases visibility, making the ball easier to track at high speeds.

The classic Dunlop Fort core has been re-mastered and re-engineered to a much higher specification resulting in Dunlop HD core technology, which increases the durability and maintains consistent playing characteristics of the ball allowing players to have complete confidence in their game.

Dunlop tennis balls have been leading the way for decades, a tradition that we want to continue which is why we continue to develop new technologies to help improve the quality of the game. All balls with HD2 technology feature the ultimate combination of Dunlop's premium HD Core and HD Cloth technologies. This combination creates our Ôball-istic's technologies to improve the game for today's most demanding players.

Hi Vis cloth technology is a special dye application used on our mid range woven tennis balls. This enhances the reflectance properties of the ball making the ball more visible for players when in play.

Nature and its organisms have evolved over millions of years to become highly optimised and efficient in their chosen environment. The concept of Biomimetics is the study of nature and the natural world to inspire the design of engineering solutions and cutting edge technology. Application of Biomimetic design can be seen in a diverse range of different industries from wing design on aircraft, to design of high speed bullet trains and advanced structural engineering. Sporting examples include the super strong crash cells in Formula 1 cars inspired by honeycomb and hydrodynamic swimsuits inspired by shark skin. Dunlop has taken this concept to inspire 3 new racket technologies, creating the ultimate range of performance rackets.

Aeroskin is inspired by the skin of the most highly evolved marine predator, the shark. Its streamlined body is covered in microscopic riblets which create localised turbulence which in turn reduce drag. This allows the shark to slice through the water with more speed and strike with more power. Like the shark, Aeroskin uses a unique textured skin strategically applied to the surface of the racket which helps to smooth airflow around the racket to reduce aerodynamic drag. This makes the racket quicker through the air to generate enhanced power, improved maneuverability and allow faster reaction time.
Aeroskin reduces aerodynamic drag by up to 25%* for increased racket speed and power.

HM6 is inspired by one of the strongest most efficient structures in nature, Honeycomb. Its complex mass of hexagonal cells creates an incredible strong lightweight structure that’s up to 95% air to naturally absorb impacts whilst maintaining its shape. Using a revolutionary new manufacturing process, Dunlop has taken high modulus carbon fibres and engineered them into a hexagonal structure. The HM6 Carbon material is placed between layers of Aerogel enhanced carbon to create an incredibly stable construction. HM6 Carbon is so effective because a hexagon is made up of 6 equal sides. When this construction is applied to a racket it means the unwanted racket frequencies are absorbed and distributed evenly, giving enhanced racket feel and minimal energy loss which equals maximum energy return.
HM6 Carbon reduces racket frequency and vibration by up to 10%* for ultimate energy return and feel.

Gecko-Tac is inspired by the pads on the foot of one of nature’s most highly evolved species, the gecko. The nano-scopic surface of the gecko’s foot gives it the ability to stick upside down on any surface, in any condition. Like the Gecko’s foot our incredible new surface treatment technology provides superior levels of grip in any condition. The smooth tacky surface is also perforated which helps wick away excess moisture ensuring you never lose control. Gecko-Tac grips provide better control, precision and comfort, whatever your level of play.
Gecko-Tac technology provides up to 50%*w more grip and tack than previous Dunlop technology, giving greater control, feel and precision.
